Next week, Canada 150: Canada’s Untold Stories is off to Ottawa to meet with government officials and our local partners to plan ahead for our 150th birthday in 2017. These are exciting times as we learn from each other the best ways to encourage Canadians to record their life and family stories, community and organizational stories. There are so many ways to collect these stories. What makes our project unique is that no one organization tells any one else how best to collect the stories within their membership or community. Every project, no matter the size and scope, for Canada’s 150th birthday can have opportunities to collect stories and share them with all Canadians through Canada 150: Canada’s Untold Stories. We are not in competition with any group -- rather the reverse. We welcome all organizations interested in preserving the oral history and current stories of Canadians coast to coast to coast and abroad. What an incredible gift and legacy this will be for current and future generations.View article...
